Maddog Murph takes you to a land covered in green, and dripping with interesting light. Black sand beaches, and icebergs floating in lagoons adorn this photographer’s paradise. At night glowing bands of green and purple light up the sky as the stars shine. Towering waterfalls, famous mountains, steaming walkways, and lagoons are all part of the standard experience that Iceland has to offer. Packed with experiences, this will be an epic journey not to be soon forgotten.
September is one of the best times of year to go to Iceland. There are fall colors, and the golden hours are drawn out to be sometimes 2+ hours, while twilight holds the promise of sometimes transitioning into Northern Lights.
One of the most important things when planning a trip to Iceland is to maintain flexibility! This means that the weather can often time disagree with your plan, and the best option may be to head the exact opposite direction of where you planned unless you'd like to sit in a gray cloud for a couple days. With this in mind there is not a rigid day by day schedule, however we will have some places booked in advance due to availability.
Kirkjufell, Seljalandsfoss, Skogafoss, Solheimasandur, Jokulsarlon, Langisjor, Landmannalaugar, Hvitserkur, Budhir, Londrangar, Vik, Reykjavik & many other locations depending on weather.
Amateur to moderate
30F to 65F - sometimes storms/wind - often rain
9 days with a mix of 3-4 star hotels (twin share), off road vehicle, and backcountry huts. Breakfast and dinner when in backcountry. Cooking will be taken care of when we are off the beaten tracks.

Level 1 - This is the easiest level of my tours. It indicates that walking along pathways, beaches, fields, and to location will be moderate at worst. This level is designed to give the maximum amount of experience for the most moderate level of health/fitness requirements.
